2: Schedules

Rehearsal Schedule

The next piece of information that I gather are the schedules of each person. I do this to ensure that when creating a rehearsal schedule, there are no conflicts between other commitments and that everyone is reliable and efficient in turning up to these rehearsals. For the first week of rehearsals, Marcus and I sat down together and came up with a rehearsal schedule that fit through everyone’s plans. We knew that Thursday was a definite for rehearsals as other commitments didn’t take up much time on that day and also the rest of Monday after our seminar at University had finished, weekends would be extremely tough until other modules and performances had finished. We also had to work around giving people enough time to rehearse with other performances and giving people plenty of time to write their dissertations, which was a major worry for anyone and took up the majority of people’s time. In any professional theatre company, the main focus would be the company itself, there may be one or two small commitments, but the majority would be on the work produced throughout. However, as University of Lincoln students, modules such as Dissertation and other performance based modules took a bit of time out of rehearsals for Bleeding Edge.
