Hi Everyone!
This week has been very productive for our company. It began with our first ‘work in progress’ show back of our piece Inka. We performed the development of our performance so far, and we found it extremely helpful to receive some outside feedback so early on in our devising process. This outside input has helped us to build on our existing ideas and develop new movement for the piece.
Our Director Marcus has now introduced the script for Inka to the cast, and we had our first table read. We now have character names and a full outline of the entire structure of the performance. This was especially exciting for myself and Felicity as the choreographers, to have a clear understanding of the message and character relationships to then be able to create movement that will best communicate our story to an audience.
Next, we started to block through the script and produce ideas for movement and physical theatre. We have now introduced the characters into the story and using multimedia techniques with a live feed camera, we can connect Inka with the other characters in the scene and discover how and why Inka was created.

Our Set Designer Esther and Director Marcus also had a stage design meeting this week with the Lincoln Performing Arts Centre’s (LPAC) technician, Martin. We have ordered our ‘Inka
devise’ prop to be made ready for our final performance at the LPAC in May 2018. Our Composer Will has also made some great progress with our original music for the performance. He is constantly adapting the sound to ensure it complements our movement. Props Manager, Samantha has also started to make our first prototype box with handles, which we were able to use in a rehearsal of our piece so far.
